Farrah Fawcett, whose dazzling smile image and turned it into a pop icon in the'70s thanks to "Charlie's Angels," died today. He was 62 years.Fawcett died on Thursday shortly before 9:30 am at a hospital in Santa Monica, said spokesman Paul Bloch.
Actor Ryan O'Neal, her partner of years that she met with anal cancer as a battle, was at his side, along with his good friend Alana Stewart, said Bloch.
"After a long and courageous battle against cancer, our beloved Farrah has died," said O'Neal. "Although this is an extremely difficult time for your family and friends find comfort in the beautiful moments we share with Farrah through the years and with the certainty that his life has brought happiness to so many people around the world."
The other stars of "Charlie's Angels" was honored.
"Farrah took courage, took power and had faith. And now the rest is peace with the true angels, "said Jaclyn Smith.
Cheryl Ladd said: "It was incredibly brave, and God will receive you with open arms."
Fawcett made her debut in the entertainment industry in 1976 as one of the three players against the crime of the television series "Charlie's Angels." A poster that appeared in the bathing suit sold millions of copies.
His hair long and layered became all the rage in fashion, and girls throughout the country have adopted his style.
Anal cancer was diagnosed in 2006. During his treatment, with the help of O'Neal, father of his son Redmond, who was born in 1985.
O'Neal said this month that he proposed marriage, and Fawcett agreed. Marry "as soon as she can say yes," he said.
His battle with painful treatments and depressing relapse was recorded for the television documentary "Farrah's Story". Fawcett sought a cure in Germany and United States in combating the disease with an iron determination, even when your body is weakened.
"His great message for people is that they do not give up, no matter what they say of you, keep fighting," said Stewart.
